Robert D. Schreiber Sr., 65, of 2920 Van Buren, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at home.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 390 N. Grandview Ave. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1943, in Dubuque, son of Archie and Verna (Herbst) Schreiber. He married Diana Horn on Dec. 21, 1968; she preceded him in death in September of 1990.
Robert was a plate pressman for the Telegraph Herald and later for Johnson Graphics.
He was an active member of the Dubuque Jaycees in the 1970s. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting model trains and stamps.
Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his sons, Robert Schreiber Jr., of Hawaii, and Ryan (fiance, Chrystall) Schreiber, of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Jacob and Gabriel Schreiber; his brother, Duane (Susan) Schreiber, of Dubuque; and his sister, Shirley (Joe) Brehm, of Bellevue, Iowa.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, David.
A Robert D. Schreiber Sr. Memorial Fund has been established.
