WALTER M. "Bud" SIEGWORTH

Walter M. "Bud" Siegworth, 85, of 2935 Balke St., died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home. 2659 Kennedy Road, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Siegworth worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man, spending time at Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin and at the Dubuque Lock and Dam. He later worked at the Savanna Ordinance Depot and eventually began driving for H&W Transportation, where he eventually retired in 1974.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1917, in Dubuque, son of John and Christina (Greenwalt) Siegworth.

He married Genevieve Dorsey on May 27, 1936; she died in 1961. He later married Jeanne Miceli on June 7, 1986, in Bayfield, Wis., on the Chippewa Indian Reservation.

Bud was a member of the Dubuque Boat Club and the Local 421 Retirees. He was always ready for a good game of euchre or poker. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and will be well remembered for his all-around handyman skills.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanne (Miceli) Siegworth, of Dubuque; two daughters, Joan Nichols and Alice (Richard) Pike, both of Dubuque; two stepsons, Tim and Tom Robinson, both of Mount Carroll; a stepdaughter, Ruth (Jay) Radke, of Carpentersville, Ill.; three grandchildren, Gail (Daryl) Heinold, Kevin (Paula) Pike and Susan Strizak; seven great-grandchildren, David (Amy) Heinold, Matthew, Stephen and Genevieve Heinold, Bobbi Pike, and John and Michael Strizak; and two great-great-grandchildren, Justice and David Jr. Heinold.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Siegworth, in 1967; four brothers, Roy, Ray, Fred and Leo Siegworth; and two sisters, Margaret Demander and Viola Smith.

A Walter M. "Bud" Siegworth Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Dubuque Fire and Rescue and the doctors and nurses at The Finley Hospital.
