Herman Fritschie, 73, former Dubuque resident, of Carmichael, Calif, died at 4 a.m. Saturday at Carmichael. He was an accountant formerly with the Standard Oil Company and the U.S. Internal Revenue Department. Surviving are one son, Paul J. Fritschie of Carmichael, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Traynor, Clarion, Ia., Mrs. Russell (Betty) LaMantia, Palos Park, Ill, and Ms. Elaine Fritschie, Carmichael; four grandchildren, and three sisters: Mrs. Pauline Mont and Mrs. A. D. Swartzel, both of Park Forest, Ill. and Mrs. Albert (Mollie) Betz, Iowa City, Ia. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced.

Submitter Notes: Herman Leslie Fritschie was the son of Fidelus and Catherine Fritsche. Please note that Herman was the only one of Fidel and Catherine’s children to assume a different variant spelling of the Fritsche surname. Herman Fritschie was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta M. Kenety Fritschie (1956), his parents, his brother, William Fritsche (1951), and sister, Theresa Fritsche Hemmi (1955).
