Doctor Schroeder, Retired Dentist, Is Dead at 82.
Dr. George M. Schroeder, 82, Sageville road, a retired dentist, died at 3 am. Thursday at a Dubuque Hospital after a brief illness. Friends may call after 7 pm. Thursday at the Strueber Funeral Home, from where services will be held at 9 am. Saturday to Holy Ghost Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Dr. Schroeder was born Dec. 26, 1874, at Holy Cross, son of Matthew and Gertrude Dausch Schroeder. On Nov. 24, 1921, he married Josephine Hemmi. He was a graduate of the Northwestern University Dental School, and practiced dentistry in Casade and later in Dubuque until his retirement. Dr. Schroeder was a member of Holy Ghost Church and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife; three brothers, P.J. Schroeder, Phoenix, Ariz., Dr. F.M. Schroeder, Ryan, Ia, John P. Schroeder, Wilson Creek, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Botsford, Britt, Ia, and Mrs. M. F. (Emma) Theisen, Dubuque, Ia.
