David Hemmi Is Taken By Death. Well Known Dairyman Dies At Home On Sageville Road. David Hemmi, well known dairyman of this community, died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family residence on the Sageville road. He was born in Thurwelben (sic), Switzerland, June 14, 1848, and came to county, where he had since resided, fifty years ago. Mr. Hemmi was a devout Catholic, a member of the Holy Name society of Holy Ghost church, and in his last hours he was comforted by the rites of the Catholic church. He is survived by his widow and a brother, E. Hemmi. A son preceded him in death twenty-one years ago. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning from the home to Holy Ghost church at 9 o'clock. Interments will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.

Submitter Notes: He was born in Churwalden, Switzerland and immigrated to America abt 1872. He was married to Pauline Patscheider. The pallbearers were relatives: Clarence Frommelt, Alois and Leo Koester, Anton Stecher, Clarence Hemmi, and John Vogt. The funeral was largely attended. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Anton Hemmi), and 3 siblings (Christian Hemmi, Barbara Hemmi Stecher, and Peter Hemmi).
