ELDON G. "Al" BEAUCHAMP

Eldon G. "Al" Beauchamp, 84, of 2165 Elm St., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where there will be a flag presentation accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Beauchamp worked with various construction companies for many years, until retiring in 1981.

He was born on Oct. 22, 1918, in Otter Creek, Iowa, son of John and Eleanor (Johnson) Beauchamp. He married Irene Wehrspann on July 18, 1953.

He had lived in the Dubuque area his entire life. He served with the Army during World War II.

He was a well known musician who played with several bands in Dubuque and had played his guitar for local nursing homes until his death.

He was a lifetime member of the Musicians Union and a member of the Labor Union Local 659.

The love of his life was his family and his guitar. Al loved life and possessed a passionate spirit whose light touched everyone he met. He will be sadly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Irene, of Dubuque; his children, Randy (Amy) Beauchamp, Connie Baker and Susan (Frank) Kelly, all of Dubuque, and Lisa (Richard) Feldman, of Sheboygan, Wis.; grandchildren, Eric, Brian, Andrea and Adam Beauchamp, Jeff (Melissa) Baker, Sarah Knabel, Samantha Sutton, Zach Kelly, and Jack and Lydia Feldman; seven great- grandchildren; and his sisters Mary (John) Mullen and Betty Mullady.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Loras; a sister, Pauline; and an infant brother and sister, John Joseph and Theresa.

In lieu of flowers, an Eldon "Al" Beauchamp Memorial Fund has been established.
