Terry James Dolphin, 54, of Manchester, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died Saturday evening, Jan. 25, 2003, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine, Iowa, from complications of Parkinson's disease and pneumonia.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manchester, with the Rev. Ralph Simington officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, where there will be a scripture service at 4 p.m. Friends also may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dolphin worked for the state of Iowa in Des Moines, and later lived in Dubuque. He did volunteer work at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1948, in Manchester, an only child, son of Donald and Maerita (Donahue) Dolphin.

He received his education from St. Mary's School and graduated from West Delaware High School in 1967. He attended Notre Dame and graduated from Loras College, Dubuque.

He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame. He was devoted to his cousins and aunts.

Surviving are his mother, Maerita Dolphin, of Manchester; three aunts, Louise Hise, of Denver, Regina Donahue, of Ryan, Iowa, and Imogene McAreavy, of Maquoketa, Iowa; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Dolphin, in 1992.
