WAYNE W. LAUNSPACH

Mr. Wayne W. Launspach, 72, of 4618 Cardinal Drive, died after an apparent heart attack Thursday evening, Jan. 23, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Roselawn Chapel at the Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque.

Mr. Launspach worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for many years prior to retiring.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1930, in Durango, Iowa, son of Robert and Mabel (Kuntz) Launspach. He married Lillian B. Kass on May 2, 1962, in Galena, Ill.; she died on March 27, 1995.

He was a member of Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ and the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. He was a Korean conflict Army veteran.

Surviving are two sisters, June E. Mickel, of Sherrill, Iowa, and Twila Birch-Manders, of Dubuque; a stepdaughter, Mary Jane (Donald) DeMoss, of Loretto, Minn.; a stepson, Ed Dullard, of Miami; six stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Hanson; a brother, Melvin Launspach; and two infant brothers.

The family requests no flowers. A Wayne W. Launspach Memorial Fund has been established by the family.
