Dubuque Weekly Times, July 18, 1861.

DROWNED-

A boy named Peter Fulker, aged 13, went in bathing in the slough back of the Eagle Foundry, Thursday afternoon. During his sports in the water he dove to the bottom to bring up a handful of mud. When he came up he seemed strangled and bewildered, and immediately sunk again. He never afterwards came up, and when we came away from the scene of the accident he had yet been found.
