Rose M. Connolly

Rose M. Connolly, 73, of 500 English Lane, died suddenly at 5:41 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to

8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where a parish scripture wake service will be at 3 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1935, in Cassville, Wis., daughter of Leo and Anna (Dresen) Adrian. She married Thomas E. Connolly on Oct. 6, 1956, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville.

Rose owned and taught at Raggedy Ann & Andy Preschool for more than 25 years. She loved teaching young children. Her students and their families have always held a special place in her heart. She adored her husband, her children and grandchildren. Rose enjoyed fishing, camping and gathering with her family and friends.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Tom; daughters, Kris (Steve) Rodham and Kathleen (David) Nicholson, of Dubuque; her sons, Timothy, of Medicine Lake, Mont., Edward (Teri), of Rock Island, Ill., and Kevin (Amy), of North Liberty, Iowa; grandchildren, Abbey Rodham (Zach Kass), Molly (Mark) Wagner, Ashley Rodham, Michael, Maggie and Matthew Nicholson, Adrian, Annalise and Owen Connolly, Katherine, Elizabeth, Caroline and Thomas Connolly; and sisters, Arlene (Embert) Wackershauser and Geri (Joe) Schaal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lyle, Pat, Duane and Leo Jr.; and sisters, Delores and Sally.

A Rose M. Connolly Memorial Fund has been established, with the funds to be distributed to her favorite charities.

The family would like to express a special thank-you to Dr. Mark Moore, Dr. Thomas Johnson and the staff at Mercy Medical Center.
