Lois DeEtte Watters Glab

Lois DeEtte Watters Glab, 88, of Dubuque, died at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at her daughter's home in Evanston, Ill.

Services will be held in the spring.

She was born on July 31, 1920, in Boone, Iowa, daughter of Dr. Philip G. and Sigrid (Stromert) Watters. She attended Carleton College in Minnesota, Lindenwood Girls School and Drake University, as an art major.

Lois was a homemaker and volunteered in the community. She was a member of Eastern Star, PEO and Sunshine Circle.

Lois loved to give to others and found humor in everything. She had a talent in interior decorating. She also was a beauty queen. Even after her stroke in 2005, which left her speechless and wheelchair bound, she was like a ray of sunshine, with a smile on her face for everyone.

Surviving are a brother, Dr. Hugh (Jane) Watters, of Des Moines; a brother-in-law, Duncan Glab; a daughter, Greta Glab Wallace, of Evanston, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Tom) Glab; and her in-laws, Robert F. and Jeanne Woodward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Stroke Association, 888-478-7653, and the National Hospice Foundation, 877-470-6472.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives you. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
