Margaret C. Freeman Foote

Margaret C. "Marge" Freeman Foote, 79, of Dubuque, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ardel H. Berta officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St. where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of George and Martha (Hall) Zugenbuehler. She married Robert Freeman on Dec. 30, 1950; he preceded her in death on July 18, 1976. She then married Raymond Foote on July 22, 1977; he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1983.

She worked at State Brand Creamery, St. Regis Paper Company and at Ecumenical Towers until her retirement in 1993.

Marge was an avid bingo and euchre player and loved dancing. She treasured the friendships she made at Colts Bingo and at the Greyhound Park and Casino.

Marge was a member of St. Patrick parish.

Surviving are a sister, Dolores Klein, of Maquoketa; and a brother, George (Mary Ann) Zugenbuehler, of Dubuque; and several nephews and nieces, including her goddaughter, Kathy Klein, of Iowa City.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Maus; and two brothers-in-law, Sy Klein and Harold Maus.
