DYERSVILLE, Iowa -- Bennett John Meyer was born on Oct. 24, 2007, in Iowa City, son of Jordan and Emily (Welter) Meyer. He lived five happy months with his parents in Dyersville. Bennett rose with Jesus on Easter Sunday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on Sunday, March 23, 2008, following a respiratory illness.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Masonville, with the Rev. William Joensen officiating. Burial will be in St. Albert's Cemetery, Lamont. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester, where there will be a rosary at 2:30 p.m. Friends also may call after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the church.

Surviving are his parents, Jordan and Emily Meyer, of Dyersville; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Colleen Meyer, of Manchester; maternal grandparents, Jeffrey and Mary Welter, of Masonville; great-grandparents, John and Barbara Hogan, of Uvalde, Texas, Les and Leona Meyer, of Manchester, and James and Marilyn Welter, of Masonville; great-great-paternal grandmother, Elsie Meyer, of Manchester; an aunt, Elizabeth "Libby" Welter, of Masonville; and two uncles, Joshua (Laura) Meyer, of Waterloo and Jacob Meyer, of Manchester.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandmother, Kathy Hogan; great-grandparents, Leo and Betty Hutchinson; and a cousin, Travis Hutchinson.
