Joyce M. McRae

Joyce M. McRae, 65, of ManorCare Health Center, formerly of 828 1/2 Rhomberg Ave. died at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at ManorCare Health Services following long and courageous battle with lupus.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Mon-day, March 17, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Mon-day, March 17.

She was born Oct. 9, 1942, in Dubuque, daughter of Harold and Alice (Petty) Carpenter. She married Milton E. McRae in 1962; he preceded her in death on April 17, 1990.

She worked at the Finley Hospital for over 18 years as a certified nurses assistant.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and also enjoyed going out to lunch.

Surviving are her daughter, Penny Jo (John) Reed, of Dubuque; a grandson, Michael Tucker; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Esser.

She also was preceded in death by parents and two brothers, Edward and Gerald Carpenter.

The McRae family wishes to thank the staffs at Finley Home Care, ManorCare Health Services, the Finley Hospital and Hospice of Dubuque for all their care and support.
