Patricia M. Strong, 79, of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 1629 Kebbie Drive, died at 11:53 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008, at ManorCare, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a rosary and wake service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on April 12, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of James F. and Ida M. Barry. Patricia graduated from Immaculate Conception in Dubuque, in 1946.

She married Kenneth E. Strong on May 1, 1948; he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1985. She was a homemaker.

Patricia was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and the Eagles Club Auxiliary.

Patricia enjoyed camping, and loved reading, crafts, bingo and spending time with her friends.

Surviving are her children, Patricia A. (Steven) Smith, of Elkader, Iowa, Kevin M. (Debbie) Strong, of Shakopee, Minn., Kathleen M. (Robert) Flaig, of Platteville, Wis., Kara M. (Robert) Schroeder, of Rapid City, S.D., Susan M. Myers, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lisa A. (Kevin) Hyder, of Monroe, Mich.; three brothers, James Barry, David Barry and Bernard (Joan) Barry, all of Dubuque; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She also was preceded in death by her son, Keith E. Strong; a grandson, Michael Smith; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lauryn Chrystal.
