Marlene Gunnell Sisbach

PEOSTA, Iowa -- Marlene Gunnell Sisbach, 70, of Peosta, (Swiss Valley), formerly of Viroqua, Wis., passed away in sunny Florida on a trip with her daughter and family on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Pastor Kristian Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the funeral home.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1927, in Vernon County, Wis., daughter of John and Sophie (Yttri) Bolstad. She moved to Dubuque in 1958, where she worked at John Deere, Rawleigh Interstate, and her most current position of 20 years at Dubuque hardwoods, which she enjoyed extremely.

She was a great mother and loving grandmother. Her joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends, reading and her wonderful life in the Valley. Her smile and laughter said it all and will always be remembered.

Sadly missed by Steve (Tara) Sisbach, of Dubuque, Julie (Steve) Brickman, of Covert, Mich., and Linda (Dennis) Murray, of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Tristan Sisbach, Amy, Bryan and Mark Brickman and Jessica Murray; three brothers, Harry (Ardyce) Bolstad, Tommy (Shirley) Bolstad, and David (Maryann) Bolstad, a sister, Susie Bolstad and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Bolstad, all of Wisconsin; and special friends, Dick and Carol Fossum and Shorty and Jeanie Casel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sophie (Yttri) Bolstad; stepfather, Gerald Henry; a brother, Jimmy Bolstad; and her grandson, Chad Sisbach.
