Death Cuts Short Life of Henry M. Reichling

Death came to another home in our city Sunday shortly before noon, when Henry M. Reichling died at the home of his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Tannery on South Main street. On January 31, Mr. Reichling, wife and little daughter came down from Dubuque where the husband and father was employed by the Liberty Tractor Co., expecting to enjoy a few days visit with Mrs. Reichling’s parents. Deceased was taken ill with the Flu which later developed into pneumonia, and after suffering from the dread disease until Sunday when the end came. Henry was a young man in the prime of years and usefulness, of cheery and kindly disposition and the just claimant of many friends who deeply regret his untimely passing.

Henry M. Reichling was born at Springbrook, Ia., Oct. 31, 1886 and had lived nearly all his life in this vicinity. He was united in marriage July 3, 1917 to Miss Florence Tannery of this city, to which union was born one daughter, who with the bereaved wife mourn the loss of a kind husband and father.

Mr. Reichling was an honored member of the Modern Woodmen of America, the American Bankers Assn., and the Maquoketa fire department and these societies have by his death lost one of their most active and respected brothers. Besides the wife and daughter, he is survived by two brothers, Mike and John Reichling of Howard, S. D., and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Crantz of Howard, S. D., Mrs. W. F. Miller of Cresco, Ia., Mrs. John Ralston and Miss Agnes of this city.
