Linda L. "Lin" Ellerbeck, 59, of 12179 Forest Meadow Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Private family burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 19, at the Egelhof, Siegert, & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road.

She was born on March 14, 1948, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter of Kenneth and Winifred (Mayo) Hunt. She married Paul Ellerbeck on Dec. 19, 1970.

Lin received her bachelor of arts, in education, from the University of Iowa in 1971, and taught at the elementary level in Cedar Rapids until 1977. The family lived in the Vermont and Massachusetts area for the next seven years before moving to Cedar Falls, in 1986. Lin and her family have resided in Dubuque since 1992.

She loved music and was an avid reader. Quilting and sewing with her friends was one of Lin's favorite past times. She also enjoyed gardening and animals, she had adopted three dogs and a cat from the rescue center.

Lin was a volunteer with the Finley Hospital Sunshine Circle and a member of PEO Chapter IK.

Surviving are her husband, Paul, of Dubuque; her children, Emily, of Santa Monica, Calif., Erin and Alex (girlfriend, Alicia Butcher), both of Dubuque, and Sam, of Van Nuys, Calif.; her parents, Kenneth and Winnifred Hunt, of Council Bluffs; her mother-in-law, Wilda Ellerbeck, of LaVista, Neb.; her sisters, Marcie (Dean) Andrews, of Charles City, Iowa, and Dawn (Robert) McAnnally, of Keller, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Norman Ellerbeck.

The Ellerbeck family wishes to thank the Finley Hospital nursing staff, Dr Keith Shaw, Dr. Adam Schope, Dr. John Viner, Dr. Ronald Iverson and Dr. Michael Chapman and their staffs for all their care and support.
