John L. Schmeichel

BETHEL PARK, Pa. -- John LeRoy Schmeichel, 59, of Bethel Park, formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in St. Louis de Marillac, Cecil. Burial will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Peterstown, with full military honors.

John was a 26 year Navy Veteran and was employed with the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years; Susan (Campbell) Schmeichel; loving father of Laura Louise, Daniel John, and James Robert Schmeichel; grandfather of Matthew David Schmeichel; brother of Gretchen Schmeichel, Thomas J. (Diane) Schmeichel Sr., Mary Schmeichel, and Sarah (Ed) Fee, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Willis LeRoy and Kathleen (Murphy) Schmeichel.
