Mary Delores Pake

Mary Delores "Mac" Pake, 84, of 2212 Suzanne Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 17, at home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Peosta, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 19, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where the rosary will be recited at 5 p.m.

She was born March 29, 1924, in Peosta, daughter of Michael and Julia (Donovan) McClain. On Aug. 2, 1958, Delores married John V. Pake; he preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1973.

Delores graduated from St. Martin's High School, in Cascade, Iowa, and graduated from Mercy Hospital College of Nursing.

Delores worked at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, as a registered nurse, for many years. She was past president of Mercy Alumni Association, and past president of Third District of Iowa Nurses Association.

Surviving are three sisters, Marian (Robert) Dayton, of Scales Mound, Ill., Margaret (Earl) Larson, of Dubuque, and Jean Allen, of Key West, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Louis Timp, of Galena, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Jean McClain, of Dubuque, and Rose Marie McClain, of Peosta.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Philip, Louis, Ralph and Earl McClain; two sisters, Marie Timp and Grace McClain.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and staff at the Finley Hospital, and also to Dr. John Viner and his staff for their care and support.
