Lidwina C. Hannan

HOLY CROSS, Iowa -- Lidwina C. Hannan, 88, of Highland Court, Holy Cross, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, after a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rickardsville. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth.

Lidwina was born on Sept. 24, 1919, in Rickardsville, daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Krug) Auderer. She received her education in the St. Joseph's school in Rickardsville.

She married James Hannan on Oct. 11, 1938, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on April 10, 1991.

The couple farmed in the Rickardsville area, until their retirement, where they then resided in Holy Cross.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Parish and its Rosary Society.

Surviving are four children, Sharon (Roger) Stillmunkes and Ken (Diane) Hannan, both of Holy Cross, Mary Kay Hannan, of Dubuque, and Michael (Mary) Hannan, of Peosta; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alvina Buck, of Dubuque, and Rita Bruggemann, of Kansas City, Kan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Patrick Hannan; four brothers, Raymond, Ed, Arnold and Joseph Auderer; and a sister, Stella Scherer.

The family of Lidwina would like to thank the staff of Stonehill Care Center for the many years of wonderful care, Hospice of Dubuque and Dr. Greg Paulsen and Deb.
