Laura Prudenza Pinch

Laura Prudenza "Prudy" Pinch, 71, 2695 Raven Oaks Drive, Apt. 8, died at 6:53 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Behr's Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., with burial in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1936, in Dubuque, daughter of Thomas and Inez (Driscoll) Lilly.

Laura graduated from St. Columbkille's School, Dubuque. She worked at William C. Brown Publishing Co., Dubuque. She married Daryl L. Pinch on Jan. 28, 1965, in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death Aug 22., 1997. They lived in Dubuque before moving to Cedar Rapids. They moved back to Dubuque in the summer of 1982.

Laura was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker while her children were young. She later began working at Vigortone in Cedar Rapids. After moving back to Dubuque, she worked at the Dubuque Casino Belle and Diamond Jo Casino. She also worked at Cumulus Broadcasting, Hillcrest Family Services and ARC.

Family was very important to her. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family, boating and spending time with her grandchildren. Laura was a people person and enjoyed work. Her love of life and her vibrant spirit will live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by: a son, Brian Pinch, of Dubuque; two daughters, Dawn (fiance, Chris Sickert) Steinauer, of Cedar Rapids, and Teri Kelleher, of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Derek and Sydney Steinauer, of Cedar Rapids, and Hailee, Logan and Tianna Kelleher, of Dubuque; and several cousins with whom she was very close.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center.
