LUXEMBURG, Iowa -- Germaine A. Meyers, 96, of Luxemburg, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at the Guttenberg Care Center, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Burkle will officiate. Friends may call from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville.

Surviving are a daughter, Julie (Kenneth) Habel, of Luxemburg; 7 grandchildren, Denise Habel, Joseph (Dawn) Habel, Jaime (Kris) Habel, David Meyers, Jean (Steve) McCusker, Tony Meyers, and Tom Meyers; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Dunkel, of Dyersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex, in 1987; a son, Harold, in 1973; a daughter-in-law, Judy Meyers; a grandson, Donald Meyers; three brothers, Florian, Albert and Elmer Timmer; and two sisters, Viola Meyers and Alvina Oberbroeckling.
