Debra A. Dodds, 56, of 517 Greenwood Court, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at The Finley Hospital, following a brief but brave battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Debra was born April 29, 1951 in Dubuque, daughter of Milton and Corrine (Weiner) Chapman. Debra graduated from Wahlert High School with the Class of 1969. She was a kindergarten teachers aide from 1986 to 1992 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, where she was also a parish member.

She married Daniel Dodds on May 30, 1970, at Nativity Catholic Church. As a homemaker for most of her life, Debra was devoted to her family.

Surviving are her husband, Daniel G. Dodds, of Dubuque; her daughter, Krista C. (Kirk) Lebeck, of Dubuque; two brothers, Richard (Pam) Chapman, and Daniel (Ann) Chapman, both of Dubuque; three sisters, Lynn (Dan) Schlueter, Patty (Pete) Lindecker, and Sandy (John) Hahn, all of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Juanita Chapman of Dubuque; and 49 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Michael Chapman.

Deb's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the care and comfort received from Dr. Hermann, Dr. Yoon, and Dr. Compton, and their staffs.
