She was born on Jan. 4, 1931, in Hazel Green, Wis., daughter of Lawrence and Agnes (Splinter) Kaiser. Dorothy lived on the family farm until 1972, when she moved to Dubuque. She loved the farm and took great joy in caring for her niece and nephews during their frequent stays.

She was devoted to saying the rosary three times a day. Dorothy loved playing cards, putting together puzzles, and playing bingo. She played bingo up until last Monday.

Surviving are two sisters, Genevieve Roling and Jayne (Donald) Banfield, both of Dubuque; two nephews, Klint and Jason "My Boy" Banfield, both of Dubuque; and a niece, Nadine Banfield-Spautz, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Merlin Roling; and Nadine's husband, Richard (Duke) Spautz.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the Hospice of Dubuque, and the Manor Care staff especially Donna, Lynn, and Tammy.
