She was born on June 5, 1915, in Dubuque, daughter of Edward and Mary Bridget (O'Toole) Klinkhammer. She married John R. Glab on Nov. 3, 1937, at St. Raphael's Cathedral; he preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1970.

She was a homemaker. She especially enjoyed going to bingo with her good friend, Virginia Petty. She liked playing cards and could hold her own all the way to the end. She wasn't above cheating a little if need be. She loved her cats and kittens.

Mary was a member of St. Anthony's Parish. She made her home with her son, David, and her daughter, Joan, for the last several years. Joan took great care of her in the last years.

Surviving are her six children, Sally Reisch, Kay Habovsky and Jean (Vince) Connolly, all of Dubuque, Joan Beversdorf, Susan (Wally) Bonnet and David Glab, all of East Dubuque; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Carol Klinkhammer, of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles, Herbert and Donald Klinkhammer; and a sister, Mildred, in infancy.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Dubuque, especially Karen and Traci, for the wonderful care given to our mother.
