FARLEY, Iowa -- Florian M. Timmer, 93, of Oakcrest Manor, Dyersville, formerly of Farley, died at 9:25 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating and the Rev. John Ptacek concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a wake service at 5:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 p.m.

He was born on April 1, 1914, in Dyersville, son of Henry and Josephine (Albang) Timmer. He received his education in the St. Francis Xavier School in Dyersville.

He married Leona Griffin on Feb. 1, 1940, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, by the Rev. Donnelly; she preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1997. The couple farmed in the rural Farley area.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Farley, a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, a member of the Farley Senior Citizen's for which he served as past treasurer, and a member of the Farley Knights of Columbus Council 2001.

Florian enjoyed fishing and baseball, he was an avid Cubs fan. He loved to play cards and thoroughly enjoyed gardening. He truly enjoyed children especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Lauren) Timmer, of Bellevue; three daughters, Joanne (Don) Ennis, of Garland, Texas, Mary Lou (Mike) Bousselot, of Denton, Texas, and Nancy (Michael) Cloutier, of Fort Myers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Michael, David (Melissa) Ennis, Chris and John Bousselot, Jarrod, Ben and Rob Timmer and Tyler, Zachary and Ryan Cloutier; a great-grandson, Brian Ennis; two sisters, Germaine Meyers, of Guttenberg, and Marie Dunkel, of Dyersville; two sisters-in-law, Mary Welter, of Epworth, and Catherine Griffin, of Dyersville.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; and three grandchildren, Daniel Ennis, in April 1988, Brandon Cloutier, in July 2001, and Jill (Ennis) Shelby, in May 2006.

The family of Florian would like to thank the staff of the Ellen Kennedy Living Center and Oakcrest Manor in Dyersville, and the 3rd floor cardiac unit staff and Nurses at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, for all the wonderful kindness and care given to Florian and our family.
