Charles M. "Mike" Steiner, 71, of Saugatuck, Mich., formerly of Dubuque, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at his home in Saugatuck.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road.

He was born July 25, 1936, in Dubuque, son of Charles and Mary (O'Brien) Steiner. He moved to Saugatuck in 1998, from Chicago. Mike had previously resided in Minneapolis, Minn., Wheeling, Ill., and Grand Rapids, Mich.

He married the former Mary Ann Johnson on June 13, 1959.

He attended Loras College in Dubuque and had been employed as Sales Manager by the Hallmark Greeting Card Co. for 24 years and Inter Art Publications for 9 years, retiring in 2000.

Mike enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events, playing golf and watching sports on television. He also enjoyed traveling and listening to music.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann; two daughters, Mary (Kevin) Tompkins, of Glendale Calif., and Michelle (Bob) Ruwersma, of Stanwood, Mich.; two sons, Scott (Dana) Steiner, of Clarkston, Mich., and John (Judy) Steiner, of Ada, Mich.; two sisters, Stephanie (Ron) Hahlen, of Dubuque, and Christine (Rob) Apel, of East Dubuque, Ill.; grandchildren, Devin and Katherine Steiner, Clint, Jack and John Tompkins, Aaron Shupe, Amanda Ruwersma, Kelly (Nat) Pettinga and Alex Steiner; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
