MRS. ELIZABETH ADAM
Mrs. Elizabeth Adam, 71, widow of the late Michael Adam, a former well known Dubuque grocer, died at the family home, 425 Rhomberg avenue, Saturday evening at 10:45 o’clock. Although she had been ailing for some time, her condition did not become serious until a week ago.
She was born at Sherrill, Ia, Oct. 12, 1865, and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Engler. She lived in Dubuque county her entire life.
Mrs. Adam was a member of the Sacred heart church, the Rosary society and the League of the Sacred Heart.
Surviving her are two daughters, Miss Paula and Mrs. Mary Gneier; three sons, Leo and William, of Dubuque, and Joseph, of Aurora, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Banworth, Mrs. Peter Dupont, Mrs. Margaret Decher, Mrs. Francis Klein; three brothers, John, George, and Andrew Engler. A daughter, Mrs. Loretta Rausch, preceded her in death.
The body is resting at the family home, from where the funeral will be held Tuesday morning to the Sacred Heart church at 9 o’clock. Burial will be in Mount Calvary.
