GUTTENBERG, Iowa - June B. Pierce, 87, of Guttenberg, died Sunday April 15, 2007, at the Guttenberg Care Center, following a brief illness.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Bries officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Kann Cemetery, Guttenberg. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
June was born May 5, 1919, in Platteville, Wis., daughter of Glenn & Flora (Palmer) Davis. She married Maurice G. Pierce on April 15, 1939, in Dubuque, He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2006.
June was a homemaker, a very talented artist and devoted mother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her three daughters, Glee Palmer-Davis, of Hansville, Wash., Janet (Dick) Broeg, of Branson, Mo., Maureen (Ron) Valentine, of Plano; seven sons, Jeffrey (Vickie) Pierce, of Belle Plaine, Christopher (Kathy) Pierce, of North Liberty, Mick (Carolyn) Pierce, of Guttenberg, James (Julie) Pierce, of Belle Plaine, Joseph (Pat) Pierce, of Nixa, Mo., Paul (Maria) Pierce, of Corona, Calif., and Terrance (Adrianna) Pierce, of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Glee Kuempel of Guttenberg; a brother, Edward "Pete" (Lois) Davis, of Guttenberg; 38 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Ashley King; a grandson, Jeff King; and a niece, Susan Kuempel.
Memorials may be given in her name to Heartland Hospice, 1660 Embassy West Drive, Suite 301, Dubuque, IA 52002 and the Guttenberg Care Center Hospice room.
