William Lafayette Lightfoot

William L. Lightfoot, operator of a trucking company here [Dubuque] died at his residence, 1268 Locust St., at 10:30 Monday morning after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Born in Potosi, Wisconsin, he had lived in Dubuque most of his life. He was employed by the Clancy Transfer Company for 22 years and then operated a trucking concern of his own for 7 years.

Survivors are his wife, Emma Lightfoot; one son, William O., of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Specht, Mrs. Peter Schmitt and Miss Gloria Lightfoot, all of this city, and Mrs. Gus Almburg of Dundee, Florida; three step-children, Mrs. Harold Schmitt, Dubuque, Mrs. Darold Fernean, St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. Morris Hacker, Stockton, Illinois. Two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kitto, Dubuque and Mrs. August Bruno, Elmwood, Missouri and one brother, Charles of Dubuque, Iowa.

Notes: William Lafayette Lightfoot was the son of John N. Lightfoot and Diana Caskey. He was born in 1876. William was married first to Gennive Jane "Jennie" Bambrough. They were divorced and he married Emma Blickensdoerfer.
