Mrs. Peter Richard (Mae Alvina Lightfoot) Schmitt

Services for Mrs. Mae A. Schmitt, 75, formerly of 1425 Cedar St., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Haudenshield - DeWachter Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call until 10 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schmitt died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at the Lancaster, Wis., Nursing Home. She was born in Beetown, Wis., and was employed at Harriet's Tap and Grill prior to her retirement. Her husband, Peter R., died June 2, 1955.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Karl (Ellen) Schmitt of Dubuque; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Gus (Gennie) Almburg of Lake Wales, Fla.

Her parents were William Lafayette and Gennive Mary Jane (Bambrough) Lightfoot. She also had a daughter, Viola (Birch) Durr Whitman Fuller Tretter who died February 2, 1972 and a son, Cecil Melvin Birch who died in September of 1928 at the age of 5 years. Possibly buried in Linwood Cemetery.
