JOHN SPECHT

John Specht, 65, of 2590 Roosevelt, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Ia.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, 2170 Central Ave. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Terence Thomas, OFM, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Specht was a member of Holy Trinity Church and local 263 of the International and Allied Workers Union.

He was born at Dubuque, son of Clement and Catherine Roscamp Specht, and lived here all his life. He was employed at the Adams Co. for 18 years.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two sons, John of Dubuque and Clem of Monmuth, Ia.; two stepdaughters, Shirley and Patricia McDermott, at home; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Eva Ryan and Mrs. Al Tentinger, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. George Zelenka of Chicago, Ill.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Submitter's note: John was also married to Florence (Lightfoot) Hooks. She died July 3, 1952. John also had step-children Anna, Alice, Evelyn, Virgil, Delbert and Lucille Hooks.
