MRS. STOLTZ PASSES AWAY
Pioneer Resident of Fifth Ward Dies Monday Evening at Daughter's Residence.

Mrs. Stoltz Passes Away.

Mrs. Margaret Stoltz died May 16, 1914, at 8:30 p.m., aged 76 years and three months, at the residence of her duaghter, Mrs. J. R. Flick, 2715 Jackson street. She was born Jan 30, 1828, in Alsace, Germany, coming to America in 1834, and to Dubuque twenty years later. She was married at Buffalo, on September 30, 1846, to Mr. Joseph Stoltz. The latter passed away on October 30, 1893.

Mrs. Stoltz lived for many years in the house opposite to her duaghter on Jackson street. She was a most estimable lady of many attractive characteristics and qualities. Hundreds of friends over the city grieve the passing away of an old friend. She was for years a devoted and faithful attendant of her parish church.

She is survived by the following children: Mr. Frank J. Stoltz, Mr. Edward Stoltz, Mr. Adam M. Stoltz, Mr. Joseph Stoltz, Mrs. J. R. Flick, all of Dubuque, Mrs. M. J. Smith, Mrs. D. Cameron, and Mrs. John Hartmann, of Minneapolis, Mrs. D. Smart of Springville, Utah, and Mrs. Maud Carpenter, of Chicago, twenty-three grand-children and two great grand-children.

The funeral will be held Thursday at nine o'clock a.m. from 2715 Jackson street to the Holy Ghost church. The interment will be at Mt. Calvary. An invitation to the services is extended to friends.
