AGED RESIDENT CALLED

MRS BARBARA FLICK PASSES AWAY AT ADVANCERD AGE OF 87 YEARS

Mrs. Barbara Flick, and aged resident of Dubuque, died Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. T. Bush, 825 Julien avenue. The deceased, who was the last of a family of ten children, was born at Hartenheim, Germany, March 25, 1825, and came to America when quite young, settling in Pittsburgh, Pa., where she was married to the late Mathias Flick. In 1854 she came to Dubuque and had resided here since that time. Death was due to old age.

Mrs. Flick is survived by three sons and one daughter, Maurice, John R., Albert and Mrs. Chas. T. Bush, all of this city.

HAD LIVED HERE SINCE 1853
Was Born in Germany Eighty-seven Years Ago, Coming to America When Young

Mrs. Barbara Flick, a resident of this city for almost sixty years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Bush on Julien avenue Saturday morning at nine-thirty o'clock. Her death was caused by a general decline, due to her advanced age. Mrs. Flick was born in Hattenheim, Germany, on March 25, 1825, and when a young girl came to America, settling in the east. Her marriage to the late Matthias D. Flick occurred in Pittsburgh, Pa., and she came west with her husband in 1853, locating at Dubuque. This city has been her home ever since that time. Despite her advanced years, Mrs. Flick retained her remarkable capability, and was confined to her bed only a few days. Her life was one of untiring service to others, and she endeared herself to many by her lovable ways. She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, Mrs. Bush, and three sons, Alfred, John R. and Maurice, all of this city. The funeral will be held on Monday morning at nine-thirty o'clock from the Bush residence to Linwood cemetery.
