BANKSTON -- Louis J. Sahm, 64, Bankston, died Sunday morning at the Veterans Hospital, Clinton, Ia., after an extended illness.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday at the Sanner Funeral Home, Farley, from where services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday to St. Clement's Church, Bankston. Burial will be in St. Clement's Cemetery. The funeral cortege will leave the funeral home at 8:40 a.m.
Military services will be conducted by the Sherrman-Peterson Post No. 656, American Legion, of Farley. Members of the American Legion are requested to meet at the funeral home at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Sahm was born Oct. 15, 1890, in Bankston, the son of Herman and Margaret Lardy Sahm. He farmed at Bankston all his life. He was a veteran of World War I, and was a member of Sherrman-Peterson Post No. 656, Farley, and of Edward F. Lake Post No 7736, Veterans of Foreign Wars of New Vienna. He was a member of St. Clement's Church.
Surviving are three sisters, Miss Mary Sahm and Miss Nellie Sahm, both of Bankston, and Sister M. Ruth, a member of the Presentation Order, Algona, Ia., and one brother, John G. Sahm, Rickardsville.
