FUNERAL HELD FOR WILLIAM H. MILLER [1872-1928]

Resident of Richland County for Last Twenty-one Years Dies in St. Paul

The many friends of W. H. Miller in this city and vicinity were deeply grieved to learn of his death, which occured Wednesday morning, October 24th in a hospital at St. Paul, Minn., where he had been taken a few days before his fatal illness.

William H. Miller was born in Delaware county, Cascade, Iowa on November 6th, 1873. He grew to young manhood in the town of his birth and where his education was received.

On November 4th, 1891, Miss Julia O'Merra [O'Meara] and William Miller were married at Worthington, Ia. Five children were born to this union: Loretta, now Mrs. William Albrecht [Albright] of St. Paul; William, Jr. and David of this city; Margaret, now Mrs. Henry Stuart [Strait] of St. Paul and Henry of this city.

The deceased leaves besides his wife and children, 11 grandchildren, four brothers living at Hopkinton, Iowa, one sister at Monticello, Iowa and another sister at Blaine, Washington.

Twenty-one years ago the Miller family moved to Richland county, North Dakota and for a number of years resided on a farm near Hankinson and later lived on the farm known as the Rufus Long farm where they were very successful. About eight years ago Mr. Miller retired from the farm and purchased a dray line which he operated very successfully up to the time of his death and by his kind, jovial disposition won the respect of young and old alike. He was a friend of everyone and will be sadly missed by the many friends in the community. The funeral procession left the Miller home Staurday morning at 8:30 and the services were conducted at St. Adalbert's church at Wahpeton, where Father Jande read the Mass for the dead.

Many friends were in attendance at the last sad rites and the many beautiful floral offerings gave mute evidence of the high esteem in which the departed one was held. The earthly remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Wahpeton.

To the sorrowing wife and children upon whom this loss falls so greivously and to the bereaved relatives, the sympathy of all goes out in the fullest measure.
