ALLAN E. HABERKORN

Services for the Right Rev. Dr. Allan E. Haberkorn, 49, of 6106 Florida Ave., New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Dubuque, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Episcopal Church.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 3 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

The Rev. Haberkorn was appointed rector of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Florida effective July 1.

He was born on March 14, 1941, in Dubuque, son of Edward and Geraldine (Kohn) Haberkorn. He died of an apparent heart attack Thursday, June 7, 1990, at home.

He married Janaan White on Sept. 25, 1965, in Dubuque.

He attended Lora College, Dubuque, and received his doctorate degree from California Coast University in 1989. He was ordained in the United Episcopal Church on Dec. 19, 1982, in St. Louis. He was a technical sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are three sons, Allan II of Burbank, Calif., and Richard and John, both of Dubuque; five grandchildren; his stepmother, Geraldine (Kenneally) Sullivan Haberkorn of Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. Roger (Sheila) Raine of Davenport, Iowa, and Lisa Ferch and Michele Haberkorn, both of Dubuque; four brothers, Keith of St. Petersburg, Fla., Edward and Steven, both of Dubuque, and Bruce of Nevada, Mo.; a stepsister, Betty Clark, and a stepbrother, Michael Sullivan, both of Dubuque; and his former wife, Janaan Haberkorn of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by a son, James, on Aug. 19, 1989, and his parents.
