Sylvester White (1887-1961) was born in Worthington, the son of William and Mary Schnier White. On Feb. 17, 1914, he married Josephine Burkle (1890-1979) at Dyersville. He White’s purchased a farm one mile west of Farley, living their until their retirement in 1951. They then moved into town residing the home now occupied by Don & Cheryl Moonen at 106 2nd Ave. S. W. Sylvester served on the Farley School Board. The White’s had two children: Ralph and Bernice Mescher.
