Patrick Kelly was born in County Mayo, Ireland on March 17, 1871. Patrick Kelly was the son of James Kelly. He came to the United States at the age of seven with is parents living first in Marcus, Iowa for ten years and then moving to Farley. On Nov. 14, 1897, he married Mary Ellen Brennan in Farley. Mary Ellen died in March 1900. Patrick married a second time in November 1905 in Farley to Esther Daly. Patrick engaged in a general merchandising business and was a dealer in livestock. He served as town mayor for eight years. He had one daughter, Philomena (Mrs. Frank Scherrman).
