Michael Elliott was a native of Meath, Ireland. He was born in Nov. of 1826. About 1853, Michael started farming in Dodge Township-3 miles SW of Farley. He worked this land until his death of Sept. 19, 1898. Mr. Elliott died of cancer at the age of 72. Margaret Seery Elliott was also born in Ireland, on May 20, 1838, at Glasson Wets, Meath. Margaret arrived in America in 1864, living near Cascade with her brother John Seery. Michael and Margaret arrived in Jan. 1867. Mrs. Elliott died Nov. 22, 1914. She was buried near her husband at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. The Elliott’s had five sons and two daughters: Thomas, James, Michael, William, Mrs. M. S. Garrigan, Mrs. T. J. Woods, and John.
