Frederick & Susetta (Neff) Streif & family

Frederick Streif the youngest brother of Peter Streif was born in Switzerland on Nov. 14, 1841. Frederick came to this country in 1868. He was a farmer and a carpenter of high fame. Mr. Streif had married Suzetta Neffe in 1864. The couple had a daughter, Anna, before working their way to America and Dubuque County. Frederick and Susetta raised a family of eight: Anna (1868-1948); Sadie (1871-1949); Fred (1873-1908; George J. (1875-1946); Mary (1878-1952); John (1880-1965); Edward (1884-1958); William (1884-1963)

Mr. Streif passed away Sept. 5, 1914. He was buried at Fairview near his wife Susetta who died Aug. 11, 1905.

He was the grandfather of LuVerne Streif and Marion Streif.
