William Baker 1856-1936

William Baker, son of Richard (Dickie) Baker and Elizabeth Wall Baker was born July 18, 1856 in Dodge Township. He attended Epworth seminary and Bayless College at Dubuque. He farmed in Dodge Township for some time and then came to Farley. He married Miss Edith Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bell in in Dodge Township Dec. 3, 1885. Two children were born to this union, Chester and Gertrude.

Mrs. Baked died Oct. 27, 1900. On June 20, 1905 he married Lizzie Clark. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and a member of the masonic Lodge for 50 years. He died Dec. 21, 1916.

He was mayor of Farley, member of the town council. Mr. Baker was a baker, Gertrude Baker never married.
