Richard J. Hogan spent most of his life in the Farley community. He was born October 9th, 1867 to Willis and Pamelita Hogan. Richard married Margaret E. Whitehead on March 27th, 1901. In the later years of his life, Richard lived in White Street in Dubuque. After a lingering illness he passed away in April of 1935. Mr. Hogan was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Episcopal Church in Dubuque. Both he and Margaret are buried at Fairview Cemetery. She died at age 84 in August of 1952. Margaret was the daughter of Elias and Ann Milner Whitehead, born Dec. 14, 1867, at Cottage Hill.
