Harry Harvey, the man who picked a woman’s pocket at the Cathedral during the obsequies of the late Archbishop Hennessy and who was sentenced to spend thirteen months in Anamosa penitentiary is in town, his sentence having expired Saturday. The police are aware of his presence and have him under surveillance. Regarding pickpocket and thieves during the encampment the police department requests all residents to be on the lookout for them. Desk Sergeant Reilly said today that if people would not leave their homes without some person in them during the encampment robberies would be less. Police cannot be at all places at the same time and if people would only take reasonable precautions thefts would be less.
