The wedding of Miss Henrietta Coates and George W. Kiesel, which took place last evening at 7:30 o’clock at St. Luke’s Methodist-Episcopal Church, was a beautiful event, simple in its arrangements and devoid of all ostentation.

While the guests were assembling, Mrs. Wheat presided at the organ and the sacred edifice was filled with sweet strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march. From a distant part of the church could be heard the gentle singing of the vested choir as it escorted the bride to the altar. When the bridal party entered the main auditorium the singing of the choir and the music from the organ became unisonant and increased in volume. Presently Rev. Hugh D. Aitchison, the officiating clergyman, accompanied by the groom entered from the pastor’s study and descended to meet the bride who followed the choir. When the bride and groom approached the minister the families of both, together with the members of the Evergreen Club formed in a half circle around them. At the conclusion of the marriage ceremony the choir sang “God Bless These Hands United,” and after the prayer, chanted the Lord’s Prayer. After the benediction and while the bridal party was leaving the church the choir sang “Rejoice Ye Pure of Heart.”

The bride looked beautiful in AN exquisite gown of broadcloth silk crepe, with veil thrown back and wearing a circle of six pearls - the latter a gift of the groom. In her hand reposed a bouquet of golden gate roses.

The only quests present were the relatives, the members of the bride’s Sunday school class, the young ladies of the Evergreen Club, the members of the groom’s Whist Club and a few intimidate club.

The altar was decorated with evergreens and vines.

The usher were Messrs. Fred Robinson and Horace G. Torbert. At the home of the bride’s mother a wedding dinner was served in courses. Mr. and Mrs. Kiesel departed on the Central’s 11:30 train for the east. Before they return they will have visited Florida and the Bermuda’s. The bride is the daughter of the late Hon. Wm. Coates. The groom is a member of the law firm of Henderson, Hurd, Lenehen and Kiesel.
