GOLDEN WEDDING
Cascade, Ia., Feb. 16, - SPECIAL: Mr. and Mrs. Alva Gordon celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in West Cascade Friday. A complete surprise was planned for the occasion by their children, Mrs. C. O. Campbell, Moline, Ill., Mrs. Charles Hamil, Cedar Falls, Ia., and Mrs. George May, Chicago, who arrived early in the day.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon were married in Anamosa in 1882 and the couple have been residents of Cascade for the past 48 years. Mrs. Gordon is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a Gold Star mother, having suffered the loss of their only son, John, in the World War.

Twenty guests were present at the dinner held Friday and a reception was held from 1 to 5o’clock in the afternoon.
