Lake Park News, Lake Park, Dickinson, Iowa, USA Thursday, October 23, 1924

Adam Lenz, Sr., received a message last Thursday of the death of his daughter, Anna Sproessig, who had been in the hospital the past eight days where she underwent an operation for gall stones and was doing so nicely that they expected her home when a sudden change was made and uremic poisoning set in and she passed a away in a very short time. The body was shipped to Lake Park and taken to her brother and father’s home Saturday. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon and interment made in the Westport cemetery.

Obituary

Anna Amelia Lenz was born January 5th, 1887 at Muscatine, Iowa, and passed away at Princeton., Minnesota, October 10. 1924, at the age of 37 years 9 months and 11 days. At the age of one year she moved with her parents to the home south of Lake Park where she grew to womanhood. At the age of fifteen she was confirmed to the Lutheran faith at May City, Iowa and has remained a loyal member until her death. On February 5, 1907, she was united in marriage to Joseph J Sproessig to which union were born three daughters, Marry Eliza, age fifteen, Elizabeth Emma, age twelve, and Alice Lorene, age seven. Besides her grief stricken husband and daughters, she leaves to mourn her untimely death her father, two brothers and four sisters, viz, Adam Lenz, Sr., Nicholas and Adam Lenz, Jr. of Lake Park, Mrs R O Sproessig of Princeton, Minnesota. Mrs. C. H Titterington and Mrs C. G. Zahren of Lake Park and Mrs. Harry Zahren of Hartley, Iowa: also an aged grandfather and may other relatives.

Those attending the funeral from away besides the husband and daughters were Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Sproessig of Princeton, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. John Sproessig and Mrs. Eliza Sproessig of Weirhauser, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Will Mattiesen and daughter Emma from Arnolds Park;Mr. and Mrs. Harry Larson from Spirit Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zahren from Hartley.
