Minnie Clara Karekel, daughter of John and Augusta Sell, was born March 22, 1890 at St. Charles, Minnesota, and passed away at the Spirit Lake hospital on July 6, 1958, at the age of 68 years, three months, and 14 days.

On January 6, 1909 she was united in marriage to John E. Manley, and to this union seven children were born, Elon, Wesley, Russell, James, Douglas, Delbert, and Joyce.

The early part of her life was spent in Minnesota. On September 10, 1931, Mr. Manley passed away, after which the family moved to Primghar, Iowa, where she lived for 20 years.

On June 4, 1938 Clara Manley was married to Walter Karekel. In 1951 they moved to Arnolds Park where she spent her remaining years.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father, two sisters, six brothers; a son, Delbert, and a daughter, Joyce.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Walter of Arnolds Park, five sons, Wesley of Dover, Minnesota; James of Rowena, South Dakota; Douglas of Kingston, Washington; Elon and Russell both of Arnolds Park; three sisters; one brother; nine grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as the many friends she made during her lifetime.
