Former Resident Dies In California Dec. 27

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, Dec. 31, from the Leyson Funeral Chapel in Milford for Ralph Kenneth Titterington. Rev. J. R. Kirby officiated at the last rites, and interment was made in. the family plot in Milford cemetery. Pall bearers were cousins of the deceased, James Olson, Howard Titterington, Dale Titterington, all of Milford; Cecil Zahrens, James Lenz and Arlo Lenz.

Mr. Titterington died Dec. 27 in Alhambra, Calif., where he had been hospitalized for more than a month, following a serious illness which developed in November. He died while undergoing heart surgery. He was 40 years of age.

Ralph Kenneth Titterington, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Titterington, now of Iowa City and the late Clarence Harlow Titterington, was born Sept. 22, 1916, on a. farm west of Milford. He continued to live in Dickinson county until 1941 when he went to California to live. He made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Clint Olson in California until his marriage August 25, 1951, to Mrs. Bernita Schmidt, also of California.

'He is survived by his wife, Bernita, and one step-daughter, Carla Jean; his mother, three brothers and three sisters. They are Marcelle, Mrs. Robert Mann of Burbank, Calif.; Earl of West Liberty, Iowa; Eloise, Mrs. James Ferguson of Iowa City, Iowa; Daryl of Sioux Falls. S. D.; Dallas of Fresno, Calif.; Joyce of Iowa City, Iowa; also surviving are five nephews and four nieces and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1949 and by one brother, Clarence Wayne, in 1924.

He was very conscientious to his work as a skilled mechanic. Before he moved to California, he was employed to the Clarence Eckman garage in Arnolds Park.

Mann of Burbank, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Titterington, Joyce Titterington, Mr. and Mrs. James Ferguson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dale Olson and family of Iowa City; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Titterington and daughter of West Liberty; Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Olson of Storm Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Titterington and son of Sioux Falls; Mrs. Pearl Swanson of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan James and family of Oakland, Iowa; Mrs. Dick Hambrock of Ames
